Achtung Betrug
Achtung Betrug! Aroganz ganz gross geschrieben. Ich habe mich dann beschwert jedoch sinnlos. Man bekommt keine Antwort.
Auf jedenfall finger weg (WR Life = we are lie)

On croit rêver.

My wife and I have been living in the…
My wife and I have been living in the Philippines for 2 years.
As our current insurance has increased the premiums considerably, we are looking for a new health insurance company and came across WRLIFE.
I researched WRLIFE and found the website, but what unsettled me were the many negative reports.
You can also see no financial data for this insurance company.
It is said that the place of jurisdiction is in London, but that is not true.
The place of jurisdiction is in the Caribbean on Nevis and St. Kitts, which would make things more difficult if you were to take legal action. Who has time to be there during a hearing? That would be impossible.
When I asked WRLIFE, I got various answers, which confused me.
Where is WRLIFE’s place of jurisdiction?
What are WRLIFE’s financial figures? Other insurance companies actually publish their figures.
What does WRLIFE mean by a pre-existing condition? What if a pre-existing condition exists but I don’t know it, and it isn’t detected during an examination? No customer who doesn’t have a medical background can say whether you have a pre-existing condition.
All questions that I would like to have answered before I decide to take out this insurance.
I received an answer from Wrlife, but none of my questions were answered, and I was called a liar.
I received the information I have written down here from a WRLIFE broker.
This behavior on the part of WRLIFE raises questions about whether this insurance company is trustworthy.
This is not how you treat potential new customers

Scam Alert…
Over 30 5* reviews in the last couple of weeks? Get real.
This doesn’t match my experience of an incredibly rude telephone response when I asked why my claim had been refused. I was told I didn’t disclose my history, which is nonsense.
This is just an excuse to not pay expensive claims.
They are registered in the UK as a broker but on the island of Nevis as an insurance company, same owner, this is nothing but a Ponzi scheme with a few low-value claims paid out of new premiums.
As others have pointed out, at least 7 of the top reviews have been made by officers or associates of WRLife.
Avoid this get rich quick scheme at all costs.

Always the same story. Few complaints only from people who did not tell the truth about their medical history and who were not covered before. No cover for many years, then you are sick and then you subscribe quickly a medical cover without telling what sickness you already have.

Terrible experience with them
Terrible experience with them, not just the fact they didnt accept my claim, which can be argued about, and i wanted to better understand why they refused the claim, so i called them, but when i was on the phone with their Bangkok office, they were SO RUDE to me!!
When addressing a customer, particularly one experiencing significant medical issues, I would expect a more understanding and compassionate approach.
Instead, the representative repeatedly provided the same generic response, refused to address my straightforward questions, refused to give me her name !!!
And concluded the call by saying, “I’m going to hang up now; there are many more customers waiting,” before abruptly hanging up. This behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on this company’s values.
I was 2 years with them (with my wife and 2 kids) and was about to renew for a 3rd year, but of course i wont.
Stay away from them !

Very bad experience
Having had a fairly serious domestic accident requiring 6 days of hospitalization, I sent all the necessary documents to my agent in Koh Samui, who forwarded them to the head office.
Neither my agent nor I have received any response from the insurer.
We have written several emails, and the company remains unanswered.
I feel like I’ll never see my money back.
Remember to find out about the seriousness before you start, too late for me. As soon as I receive the reimbursement of the care and hospitalization costs (if any) , I will cancel my contract

Ignore the 5* reviews
A brief check identified 6 of these 5* reviews are from officers or associates of WrLife, specifically,
Manuel Ollivier was an insurance broker with WrLife & had the logo on his business card
Thibault Chambert is an employee of WrLife in Chiang Mai
Mark Levitan is a local rep of WrLife in Thailand
Leon McCall, COO of Abbey Lifestyle, who sell WrLife policies.
Rudolf Van Der Lubben is on WrLife’s German webpage
Patrick Lorentz is the CEO of WrLife
Together with Patrick Lorentz calling all the bad reviewers liars, should tell you all you need to know about integrity of all of those associated with WrLife.
Check out the underwriter…
Additionally, Stephen George has an advert on his facebook page for WrLife, it could be innocent…

Small experience report on WR Life
Small experience report on WR Life, of course defused, since you can be accused of defamation in Thailand. This report contains only the facts and I deliberately do not write negatively about this insurance (see reason below). By the way, I have 2 more people, alone in my circle of acquaintances, who can report similarly.
I had hip surgery in May 2024, which I paid for and subsequently submitted the costs to WR Life for payment. Of course, I got a rejection at first. I then wrote a reply that substantiates my claim, to which I have not received an answer to this day, despite many memories (I am now wondering whether this is a method to simply ignore the customer in the case of justified claims).
The only communication was between me and Mr. Patrick Lorenz (as far as I know, CEO of WR Life in Thailand), who has repeatedly instructed the Claim department to which I have addressed my claims to respond to me.
To my last reminder from 24.09.2024, in which I asked for an answer or payment by 27.09.2024 (otherwise I will post my experience on FB and Google), I received the following answer from H. Patrick Lorenz:
And our lawyers will put you on criminal court in Thailand for defamation then
My answer to H. Patrick Lorenz
For your Information, i will only post the story. Not more, not less. I’m looking forward to hear from your lawyers. By the way, you will also find your Treat on Facebook
His answer
So we will pass to our lawyers.
Now everyone can think about this insurance (if it is one at all)

Any excuse not to pay
Following some tests and symptoms which showed i had Kidney disease, a doctor referred me to a specialist to assess extent of disease and treatment. WRlife rejected claim saying it was just a check-up, no treatment, because the doctor did not prescribe medication but decided to initially treat the disease with severe diet control to see if that controlled progress of the disease. They will look for way out of reimbursing you.

How do you even buy a policy?
Well, I’ve been trying to buy a WRlife policy for many months but noone seems to want to sell one to me. I filled in the forms, sent off, no response. Followed that up with a couple of emails, they were ignored too. After 3 MONTHS someone called me out of the blue on a Tuesday and said he would call me back by the end of the week (no idea why we couldn’t do it in that call?), but he never called back either. I’m wondering are they full and don’t want new business? (I’m in Thailand)
So WRLife have just responded and called me a liar!! Why would I make it up – if WRLife would like the DATED copies of my email I will send it to them. Or you could resend me the replies that you never sent me! THREE times I have contacted you through your own website and THREE times you have not responded. So who called me? Why didn’t they call back? However your arrogance has simply ensured I will buy my health insurance somewhere else. If you are calling future customers liars and talking to them in an impolite manner, I can only assume you would be an absolute nightmare to deal with if a real claim ever arose! Thanks for the warning!
Further Update – guess what – another person phoned me a few weeks ago and I told him someone else called me before but not followed it up, he apologised and said he would get back to me (again no idea why we can’t do business over the phone) but that it would be better to meet up. OK fine I said we’ll grab a coffee! Guess what? Now he’s not got back to me !!!!! ridiculous. You really need to get another rep in the SE Asia area cos the one you’ve got keeps slipping into a coma!

Follow up on Debbie Coopers review
This info is not slanderous or defamation, ONLY FACTS!
Follow up on Debbie Coopers review! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. No compassion and they don’t respond to your emails or calls! Wayne purchased a SERENITY policy from WrLife from a broker here in Thailand (you can find them on facebook) as recommended from a friend of his, Wayne paid over 62,000bt per year I have a copy of his policy!
(Reply from WrLife)
He bought a travel insurance as he was already arrived in the destination country. It doesn’t work like this. He had to take the travel cover which is total BS. You can see from the fake reviews added and complaints from policy holders that this company does not pay out!
I knew Wayne for over 20 years and on that day he was going out to meet with friends and on his way he had a fall, an ambulance was called and Wayne was taken to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, this is when I learned he broke his hip, I am a key holder to his home and he called me to bring his passport, credit cards and insurance policy to the hospital, we then authorized the first 2 payments so the treatment could start. (which was NOT refunded) 125,000bt, Wayne has NEVER EVER complained to me or others he had issues with his stomach or any other complaints about his health, where Wrlife get there info from is beyond me! We were at the solicitors sorting out paperwork and our lawyer called Wrlife and we first spoke with a Thai lady who passed us over to a French person who said we called the hotline for emergencies only utter crap we were transferred by there own staff. he then hung up! By the way the french person we spoke too writes his own reviews on trustpilot, if it wasn’t so sad it would be laughable! To this day wrlife choose to BS and make excuses as NOT to pay out! Wayne did NOT have preexisting medical conditions and he declared his other illnesses, diabetes and asthma, Wrlife made a sad scenario even harder to come to terms with, so for anyone out there looking for insurance I suggest you look elsewhere!

This company are nothing but liars
This company are nothing but liars . To say on here that my brother didn’t have the correct medical cover just shows how much they lie . I have the policy here in front of me and he did take out the correct cover. Wrlife saying it was the wrong cover makes my blood boil I hate Liars. This company should make its mind up why they didn’t cover him as they are using two different excuses. They told me he wasn’t covered because of pre existing and now the other excuse is that he had the wrong insurance saying he took out a travel insurance which is complete lies.
So basically your not insured if you get seriously ill or in my brothers case Wayne Cooper passed away from an illness that he wasn’t aware he had and never complained or visited a doctor about . How is that pre existing if you had no symptoms.
This has been a very upsetting time for us as a family and I just wanted to share our terrible traumatic experience and to warn others about using this company. This company advertises itself as this great insurance that covers you for everything with its bogus English address which then makes you feel you can trust them be warned go elsewhere. I’m so sad that my poor brother got treated this way which makes our grief even harder. He trusted this company. Just not fair .

Unwilling to payout for maternity claim
We made a claim for maternity cover after my wife got pregnant, but were denied any payout. They stated that there needs to have been a waiting period of at least 10 months between the start date of the contract and conception for them to pay. However, this was not supported by the contract which implied that the waiting period is between start date and when the first claim can be made.
Ended up cancelling the contract as WR Life can’t be relied upon when you need them. My advice is to stay well away!

Nothing but fake positive reviews for a fraudulent company
All the positive reviews are fake and written or paid for by WrLife. Notice the pattern, all the positive 5 star reviews are written by people with 1 review and one review only. A lot of them claim to be paid but quoting amounts in USD. Thai hospitals do not quote or charge in USD and most obvious scroll down to a review by Patrick Lorentz. he is actually the owner of WrLife, lol, how pathetic is that? Here is the truth. WrLife has a registered capital of 1 000 000 dollars ONLY, meaning your policy is backed by a company that has only 1 million dollars, laughable. They do not pay claims, deny claims or just ignore claims. They claim to accept pre conditions but deny claims claiming its pre condition. Anyone who posts negative experience gets threatened with legal action.
Update: more lies, Their reply i had a claim but did not pay the policy? never had a policy or a claim with them. Once again, case in point, nothing but lies, fraud and scam

Terrible customer service
Firstly, when my card expired, there turned out to be no proper way to update my payment details. The link they send in the message about the unsuccessful payment leads to the website’s homepage. And even on the personal account’s page you can only change your email and log out, nothing else. Overall the page looks like from 1980s.
Secondly, when I asked them for help, the support offered me to fill the .pdf form with ALL my new card details (name, number, expiry date and CVV) and send them back, so they can update my payment details manually. Never met such a request from any service in my entire life!
After I refused and asked them for other options, one of the stuff managed to provide me with the link of an e-invoice to pay. It turned out to be a recurrent payment, which is fine with me, but they didn’t tell me that and I had to ask them about how to pay next month.
And finally, I had to ask them about everything many times and they don’t answer my questions properly. Like last time, I needed to change my card again but a week after a successful charge from my new card, I received a notification about an unsuccessful charge from my old one. When I asked them about the situation and if my insurance is active, they just answered “Please, pay this link…” I’ve sent them many letters with many question about what is going on with my coverage, if it was terminated, if it will be a waiting period because of this, if the upcoming month counted as covered (since we pay in advance). They only say “No”, “Look by yourself attached” and provided me with the screenshot with all my payments list.
Luckily, I didn’t happen to use their service for real case. I sincerely don’t trust them in managing any issues.

will not pay to you
i used wrlife from nov 2022 for 7 months. plan serenity 100k$ with outpatient(8k$/year) for adult+children
for small stuff like children flue – they cover your expenses after visit of doctor (~no more than 5k thb, we had 2 visits for winter time – both time it was, luckily otitis, not something serious like covid/dengue)
But if you go to doctor with bad symptoms, and he will tell you to do blood test and something will found (lack of vitamines, anemia) – they will decline it and will say that it is planned checkup. So you need wait until fill eveb worse, or maybe almost die, to be able use their outpatient “protect”. but still, they can say that you had preconditions or planned it 😀
In total they don’t cover for around 50k thb for 3 cases, which i payed by myself.
Also, when i had crisis situation (40c temperature) – i tried to call to hotline, it takes about 10 minutes to get a person speaking only thai (bad english), after that sending me to english speaking, which sayd “just go to closest government clinic and after that send us a bill” – i finally decide to stop using it.

I find this company to be dishonest
I find this company to be dishonest in a number of different ways. They conduct business in Thailand yet they are not a registered company in Thailand, and thus cannot be regulated by the Thai government.
I bought a policy from them which was meant to reimburse me up to $80,000 a year. I got cancer, and long story short they only reimbursed me $11,000 and refused to pay more because of the MANY restrictions the policy had. I bought an $80,000 policy and not a larger one, because I researched and knew that $80,000 would be more than enough to cover any major illness in Thailand.
I believe that they are quite aware of the fact that they are cheating most, if not all of their clients.
