In Asia,
Who You Know Matters More
than What You Know.
Navigating life in Vietnam /Asean as an expat can be complex. From specialist surgeon to garage repairs, our network connects you to trustworthy professionals, saving you time, money, and stress.

How we help Expats since 1994?
Establishing yourself in a developing Asian country like Vietnam is an adventure, but it comes with unique challenges. The regulatory landscape, health and care services vary from day to day.
As a long-term resident professional expat would tell you: Who is in charge? Whom do you speak to? These are the questions that matter when you have a medical emergency or a visa crisis.
InsuranceInAsia advisors act as your bridge. We bring local knowledge, cross-cultural support, and a network of trustworthy contacts tested by the expat community. We help you avoid the "foreigner tax".
Insurers are not born Equal, prices can vary by +100%
Yea-after-year, our consultants refine our selection of insurers. We don't just pick names from a phonebook. For our Expat clients services, we benchmark insurers but also hospitals, clinics or garages. We actively exclude abusive providers based on pricing or service quality, ensuring our clients only access the best-in-class insurers
Why Local Updated Knowledge is Critical
The landscape in Vietnam changes rapidly. Here are 3 reasons why our real-time intelligence protects you.
How do we select reliable Insurers?
We use 5 professional criteria rating
As an expat, the word Offshore is associated with cheaper -as tax haven- and taylormade insurance products. It's only when the large hospital bills come in that you find out how reliable was your choice.
At InsuranceinAsia, our team would evaluate 3 levels of security:
- Where is the insurer regulated and enforcement in place. Are their specific Insurance laws? Can their license be suspended? Where is the ombudsman for litgation?
- How strong is the insurer or his re-insurance provision? Any Capital guarantee needed?
- In the country they sell to Expat, what is their reputation and local practices among clients and professional brokers

Most clients dont want to pay for what they will not use. One size-fit-all product for expat does not work for their family or employee needs. That is why we always start with a meeting interview to explore your personal needs: hospital-only, sports chiropractor, maternity or dental.
Not all insurers are equally generous, fitting to your needs or affordable. That is why we represent more than 25 different insurers so you can select the best suitable plan for your current circumstances.
Of course, over time, as your needs and budget change, we help you trim your current plan or shopping for the best alternative you can avail in the market

This is one of the most important aspect of Expat international lifestyle.
Coverage as a long term resident in Vietnam or Thailand is not the same as if you are assigned to a different mission every 5-year anywhere around the world.
But also, for families with young children thje facilities and prices are different in Singapore compared to Indonesia.
This is where our Advisors, long term residents, using ouur knowledge base bring the most value as we can refer you good and cheaper english-speaking local medical specialist, so you can save you the additional cost of cover for all the family members.

You get what you pay for is not always right in the healthcare for Expat market. The prices quoted can vary by a magnitude of +100%.
There are many reasons for that, to avoid too much technicalities, I will take 3 main reasons for the Insurer's higher price: their client base is older, most clients reside in expensive countries lik HK or Singapore and the controls on hospitals are weaker -as they do not challenge the clinics bills -even when abusive or above their 'UCC' Usual and Customary Costs. NB. That stance is nice for the clients, but it impacts the future premium increases.
The market is now driven by cashless -or direct billing service- for client convenience for outpatient GP and specialists consultations. Another technology advance by mosty insurers if e-claiming or via mobile app with turn around times of less than 5 days.
When a CLAIM IS DENIED is when your personal advisor is essential to negotiate to get paid your benefits fully and quickly.
NB. Cashless is nice but it is like giving a blank check to the treatment hospital. A tendance to inflate the bills, leads to premium increases at renewal. An inflationary spiral
